Get your ROCS off with AD! Seminar Tuesday 25th September 2007
Hilton National Hotel, Coventry
In the revised National Waste Strategy for England and across the industry, food waste collection is being widely promoted as one of the priorities for local authorities in the drive to achieve their LATS targets.
As a result, there is increased interest in Anaerobic Digestion (AD) as a prime technology for treating this waste stream.
To explore the potential of AD in the UK and answer some of the important questions about the markets for the outputs, The Composting Association (TCA) and Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) will be holding a joint seminar at the Hilton National Hotel in Coventry on 25th September.
A strong line-up of speakers will cover issues including the strategic relevance of AD in the revised Waste Strategy and the Energy White Paper, outlets and quality standards for digestate, enhancing biogas yields and generating ROCs income, feedstocks and contamination, and the public acceptability of food waste collections.

The Composting Association Annual Conference, Exhibition and Awards Dinner
5 & 6 December 2007 International Centre, Telford
Action on climate change will create significant business opportunities as new markets are created in low-carbon energy technologies and other low-carbon goods and services.
The sooner we learn more about the nature of the changes needed to take advantage of these opportunities, the better the UK's waste management industry can deliver its key role as secondary resource transformer and play an important part in the renewable energy economy.
The Composting Association's annual conference has been designed to help delegates to meet these challenges and to help them take a leading role in the development of the carbon economy.
Created with the delegate in mind, plenary sessions, workshops and exhibition breaks will give them the answers they are looking for on the issues that matter. Whether delegates are interested in MBT, new directions in collection systems or the impact of in-vessel technology there will be something for them at this year's event.
For further information on the conference contact events@ciwm.co.uk or visit www.compost.org.uk . Phone 01604 620426 or for exhibition and sponsorship opportunities contact Jenni Harris at jenni@compost.org.uk
